Christchurch Race Information
EVENT DAY TIMETABLE
10.30am - 11.45am – Late registration.
12.15pm – Costume Parade – Show off your Creations!
12.30pm – Race briefing in assembly area.
1.00pm – Start of the 2019 Lone Star Mud, Sweat and Tears Challenge.
5.00 pm – After Party @ Lone Star, Manchester St
5.30 pm – Prize Giving – Category trophies and prizes, Corporate and Gym/Club Challenge trophies, fancy dress and lots of spot prizes.
Race pack / merchandise collection Race pack/ merchandise collection is on Friday, 28 June 2019 from 3.00 pm until 6:00 pm at a to be confirmed location. Everyone must register and collect their race pack which includes your race number (There is limited parking here so we suggest you collect your friends packs as well). Team leaders are to collect all team members race packs. Limited race pack collections will be available on site on race day between 8.30 am and 9.30 am (goody bags are not guaranteed).
Pre Race Briefing Race briefing at 12.30pm is compulsory for all competitors. Please assemble as directed by 12.15 pm.
Prizes and Prize Giving There will be trophies and prizes awarded to the winner of each category thanks to our partners.
Best Dressed This year prizes will be awarded to the best fancy dressed teams and individuals, this is your chance to be creative. You will need to attend the Prize Giving to claim your prizes.

Event Clothing We suggest that all competitors wear a merino or polyprop long sleeve top and we recommend the great range available from ThermaTech. Suitable running shoes must be worn and should be taped on to prevent loss in the mud. No racing spikes or rugby boots. Remember it could be cold and will be wet and muddy, therefore you will need to bring with you a towel, dry set of clothes, warm hat, jumper and dry shoes to change into after your shower.
Event Services There will be warm showers and wash down areas for all competitors to use as well as ample changing areas, toilets and bag storage areas (at your own risk). Thanks to the great people at Synlait and Laser Plumbing East for providing these.
Food & Drinks A complimentary Bush Road hot soup and a cold DB Export (R18) will be given to each competitor as they cross the line. There will also be food, drink and coffee options available for purchase on the day.
Teams Format The teams event is a 5 km or 10 km loop. Each competitor runs the whole distance and all four team members must cross the line together to record a final team time.
Location Christchurch Adventure Park, Christchurch. There will be plenty of parking which will be clearly sign posted and marshaled on the day.

Normally: $79.00 per entry
Student: $59 per entry (ID required) - 5k event only
Corporate Entries of 10 or more people save $5pp
Teams Guys, Girls or Mixed 10 km and 5 km options. Minimum age 13 years old.
Teams consist of 4 members. Mixed teams must be made up of 2 guys and 2 girls. (Please note all team members must cross the line together)

Corporate Tent Sites - SOLD OUT FOR 2019!

We provide a 6 m x 6 m tent site for corporate groups to entertain their competitors and supporters before during and after the race. Corporates provide their own tent/gazebo, chairs, bbq etc. Click here to book a site now or you can also do this when you enter your team online.

Volunteers are vital to the success of the Mud Sweat & Tears Challenge – the event simply would not be what it is without you! Your involvement helps to make the event safe and your energy creates the fun & friendly atmosphere that Mud Sweat & Tears is known for.
Whatever role you play on the day,you are at the heart of all the excitement and it will be an experience you won’t forget!

You will also be provided with a lot of laughs throughout the day as you watch participants tackle the obstacles and mud filled course. There is never a shortage of entertainment!
